aiglet7 Pillar of the Community Canada 695 Posts	Posted 12/09/2013 3:11 pm Ostruble was the name given to a currency denominated by the kopeck and ruble, which was issued by Germany in 1916 for use in the Ober Ost area under German occupation. The OberOst was an abbreviation for the German High Command on the Eastern Front which controlled Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus and parts of Poland. All former territories of the Russian Empire.It was initially equal to a Russian ruble. These banknotes were produced by the Darlehnskasse in Posen (now Poznan)on April 17th, 1916.
