Are they actually fantasy coins, or only listed as such?
A coin is a coin if it has been coined, meaning struck with 3 dies. If it isn't die struck it's not a coin, it's just a piece of metal. It's the difference between a pipe and a picture of a pipe.
So if a "coin" or disc displays a known design, how can you call it a fantasy piece when it's based on a real item?

I reported counterfeits of Canada's 50 cent titanic coin that has Fiji instead of 50 cents only detail that's different. Also the counterfeit of Tuvalu's $2 coin, the $2 was the only thing missing. Now these coins were under fantasy / exomunia. Or however you spell the category these were determined to be fine listed as titanic coins. I just don't under stand Judith's thinking about these coins. I'm sure a buyer could try reselling as the real thing. People someone explain how the category makes a difference? There's a Carolina seller selling tons of these titanic coins. When I have time I'll put up some of his auction numbers.

I just finished posting over in the Main Forum thread: Poll regarding should properly described counterfeits be allowed on ebay? Please go over there and make your voices heard by voting! Swamper Bob is looking for input on developing a new simple ebay policy. He's an individual who works with ebay informal as part of a team to get ads pulled to forgeries.

Auctions 231117207306 , 141028674927, 231121646895, 251406447245, 221339902855, 111238793578, 121242029909, 111244110736 . This last seller is quite disturbing as he sells lots of silver clad coins along with boat loads of titanic coins. Just look at his sales history, and same with the English seller, they are exempt according to ebay because of listing in the fantasy category. I just don't get this, the real counterpart coins exist.

All the reporting of these ebay sales are great, but to end the Canadian fakes you need the cooperation of the RCM. Untill the RCM takes serious actions this issue will get worse, its just beyond common sense that a company knowingly allows their product to be counterfeited and openly sold, we must put pressure on the RCM. ebay has a problem with the US HOBBY ACT which allows for clearly marked copy coins to be sold, but with some pressure from the TPG, they too are revising the act I believe
