Hey folks. I just recently spent $119.00 to join the PCGS Currency website. I started collected paper money about a year ago and found it fun and enjoyable, however I knew nothing about grading or if there was any value to it.

Well after surfing E-bay and seeing the price difference in Graded notes verses those not graded I was quiet frankly amazed. I purchased my first two PCGS Notes last week a 1985 One dollar FRN for my birth year, and a 2003A One Dollar FRN for the year I joined the Army.

I joined the Website as a Gold Member. It has 3 options to join but what I liked most about the Gold Option was the fact that I could send in some of my nicer notes (6 to be exact) and get them graded for free, plus I am supposed to receive another note for free.

I didn't know if any of you on here where members of there website or if you had sent any notes in to be graded. I am very excited to join and hope to start a Paper Currency Collection to pass down for generations to come. Hope you all have a great week.

I included pictures of my first two graded notes by PCGS.

Kool.... Enjoy!

I join the PCGS Currency Collectors Club every couple of years or so and send in the notes I want graded. My last batch included some '76 $2 J stars and a late finished plate $20.

The Collectors Club is a good way to get your notes slabbed at a good price. The only drawback is the turnaround time really sux.

Thanks for sharing westernsky. I currently have to wait 24-48 hours for my membership to take effect. I am looking at the submission prices and they are pricey. I am excited to get my voucher to send in my 6 notes to get graded. The notes I want to send in to get graded are:

$5.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 1950D
$5.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 1988A
$5.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 1995
$5.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 2009
$10.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 1963A
$10.00 Federal Reserve Note Series 1963A Star Note

I don't know what they will grade but out of all my paper notes these six seem to be the best looking in my opinion. We will see how it goes. Once I send them off I will take a before and after picture and see how they turn out.
