JP that's a sweet stabbed quarter All,of these coins are just awesome and the era of U.S. history they come for is incredible in its forging of who we are today. I look at these circulated coins and think about who held them. Honest Abe himself maybe? Incredible to think about. I'll be back to play in depth for the next decade as all of these years showing are simply unaffordable for me right now in the grades I'll insist owning them in. One day though, one day...

I agree with GERMANICVS. I LOVE the history behind our coins. Incredible tales these coins could tell.

That is a beautiful 1865 dime, Tbone. And quite scarce too. I have been wanting for years to add a '63, '64 or '65-P dime to my collection, but the opportunity just never arose (at the right time).

Thanks Germanicvs. It took me quite a while to find that little lady, it's one of my favorites. Civil War era dimes and Half Dimes are the sweet spot of my collecting interest.

Tbone, wow, that is some coin and scarce in that grade level as well. Did you sell one of your kids to afford that? I would have to, maybe both...

If I only bought coins I could afford, I'd never buy any coins

Ralph, the hits just keep on coming! TBONE, truer words have never been spoken...I know I'm broke! I hope as this thread approaches the next two decades it brings out more of other member's collections as I feel there are more common year quarters, halves and dollars to come. Liberty Seated coinage saw America give birth to itself on so many levels and the history is staggering in its depth, complexity and overall awesomeness that it makes every coin which appears on this thread that much more thought priovoking. Keep ' em coming lads!

dsfreeworld.....I believe the 1866 dime I posted is an 1866-S; however, the wear/corrosion is such that the mint mark does not show. I based my decision on the photos/descriptions on Mr. Fortin's site.....the 1866-S has a sharp downward date prompting me to believe that, even without a visible mint mark, its an 1866-S. What do you think?
