I never had a problem buying from ebay before till now so I need your guys help, advice, opinion.A couple weeks ago I bought the 2006 Victoria Cross brilliant uncirculated silver dollar from a guy same day I bought the fine silver proof from another guy on ebay.
1st one no problem second one however showed the picture of the coin in the fine silver case (the fine silver one is the proof one although now that I kinda look at the picture the coin doesn't look like the proof one but not a great picture of the coin and I saw the case and I know that's the proof case) and when I got it outer black box says brilliant uncirculated red case is same for both coins the black case the coin sits in says fine silver, coa says brillant uncirculated and its the brilliant uncirculated coin.
I messaged the seller haven't heard back yet it's only been a couple of hours but my questions I'm wondering about is....

1.Do I have to pay for return shipping or do they.
2. do I have to send it with like tracking because they didn't send it to me with tracking can they say they didn't get it back.
3.Can they say no that's what it showed that's what you got.

Thanks

Did the seller definitely represent the coin as a proof? A link to the listing might help.

If you are sure that the seller misrepresented the coin and you definitely don't want the coin you can return it. It's always good to have the seller onboard first if possible. Communication is best. If the seller doesn't respond after a few attempts and a few days, I believe you can just open a case in the resolution center and return the coin. Definitely send with tracking, and I would try and get them to pay for return shipping if they sent you a wrong coin. Bottom line, get it back to them. Most likely they don't want any trouble and will satisfy you in the long run. Most sellers will accept returns anyway just to keep things smooth. There's also another tact...if you're sure you don't want it, just send it back w/tracking asap and notify the seller of your intentions.

If the wrong item was sent or it was misrepresented you may get shipping refunded as well, generally if sellers say you have to pay return shipping you have to pay return shipping.

Without a doubt use tracking. ALWAYS use tracking. Without it they can just say you never sent it back and theres nothing you can do about it if thats what they wanted to do.

Sellers can refuse returns, but they cannot refuse returns for improperly described things as far as I know. Like Ed mentioned its generally not worth it for them to fight anything since ebay will almost always side with the buyer and more than likely theyll just say to send it back and refund your money.

A link to the listing would really help like Edweather said.
