I had my wife swing by a nearby bank and get 40 dollars in nickels. When I started to check them, the first coin to fall out was a 1932 in VF condition. I thought, Wow! Cool! I was to be further surprised to find it was a '32 FAR which would be the mate to my '32 NEAR. The entire roll was 30's & 40's, all VF. Not too bad. The next roll was all 1958 AU! My heart was in my throat. I opened all the rolls to find a number of AU coins of each year from 1960 to 1968. Unfortunately, none of the error coins for those years was in the batch. But I was still happy with what I got. I figured some collector had died and his family just took his coins to the bank. Lucky me to be there at the right time.

Not so much that a collector died, just thinning a collection. I did exactly that about 8 months ago. Dumped all my nickels, AU S-mints, 30's,40's and 50's, and many dated and undated buffalos. I personally have no desire for them, and hoped to spur interest in another collector.

Fistfulladirt- I hope they found their way to a new collector. That would make his/her day for sure.
