hi there, I recently started collecting gold sovereigns and just bought myself a 2014. but its thicker than my other sovereigns due to a little rim on the outside of the coin, is it a fake or is it just the design?

i got a digital tape measure today, it says its 1.80mm thickness, any thoughts?

Here is a discussion about the 2013 one where one was 1.65mm. https://goccf.com/t/146853

Reading this, http://blog.royalmint.com/new-bulli...of-uk-coins/ seems to say that 1.69mm thick is corect for the sovereign.

Where do you purchase yours from since some sites are still saying the thickness is 1.52mm?
