Quote: Coins (worldwide) currently 12,735: would like to reach 12,900 although 13,000 would be fantastic but stretching it a bit.
Are you trying to gather up all the world coins that exist?

For various reasons I haven't been in buying mode for nearly a year, and probably won't for any time in the near future. Therefore, all of 2014's numismatic goals involve pestering you people even more determinedly than last year, and solidifying my place second to jbuck as CCF's most talkative member.

Oh my.....well....here goes. Finish my 1909 to present Lincoln set....in MS or better. I seriously doubt I will ever buy a 14 D in 62/63, so, the XF that I have will suffice. Realistically, I only have 16 to go - most are common dates, believe it or not. 3 legged Buff is on the list. As is, complete the set. Probably be a mix from G to GEM. IHC's - oh boy. 09 S would be great. 77 in XF or better would be even better, but the cost is something else!! SLQ's - will keep picking away at this set in AU. Quite a few to go, but these are beautiful coins, regardless. Washington Q's - Choice/Gem is a superb set. Lucked into quite a few this year...about half completed, but being VERY picky on quality. Mercs - when I find them, nice ones, they always try to come home with me. Go figure. IKE's - need to work on this set. Big coin with lots going for it....including the price. :)

*** at request, I have split out discussion of Mercury dimes with FSB to its own topic. Here is the new thread: Discussion of Mercury Dimes with FSB
Here is just carl's original post that started the discussion:by just carlBeem trying to complete a set of Mercury dimes with all FSB's. Only 7 to go. Got a 1916D with FSB's on hold with a dealer and may get that one during the year. A few others should be easier but the 1945 with FSB's is just to far out monitarily for me. IF one exists.

Numismatic goals for 2014? Good question OP! Complete my 1970+ mint proof sets, only a few to go. Define unc mint set strategy, add three pieces. Complete my 20th Century Whitman. Search another 10K cents from Dad's old hoard. Complete Turks & Caicos Apollo Commemorative silver set (need only two!) Fill in ASE Burnished. Acquire 2 - 5 silver dollar modern commemoratives. If they ever release it, I'd love a 7070. If not, may acquire a multi-drawer cabinet/case and invest in air-tites. To learn more in '14 than I did in '13.

I hadn't really thought about it until I read this post and now I'm glad I started thinking about it, so... - Start working on my own custom homemade album pages for my Lincoln type set (if you're interested... https://goccf.com/t/165073)- Start working on the coins for the Lincoln type set - Continue on my wheat collection - my goal is 1909 to 1920 minus the svdb unless it just happens) - Want to find a Dansco Mercury album so I can put the 54 I have in a book - Want to find a Dansco Walking Half album and start that - Work on all the moderns (circulation searching) - Keep going on my small dollar collection built entirely from the small dollar vending machine in my work's vending machine area - Keep working on my coin photography skills - To keep learning, building skills, and getting to know all the great people here on the board!

For 2014, It's basically the same for 2013, all 5 ATB-P 5 oz pucks, both uncirculated silver dollar commerative coins and 1 or 2 silver annual sets. Might substitute a annual silver set with the uncirculated dollar package since they cost about the same and it gives me more of a complete/more diverse collection. The only addition to the list is 1 uncirculated gold Baseball HOF coin which I had to start saving up for months ago. The only coin on my wishlist but there is almost zero chance of getting is the 2013 platinum ASE, I love that reverse. But $1700 in one shot is just too many Ramen noodle nights for me. Only thing else on the radar is what the mint decides to do with 2014 Kennedy. And I'm passing on the Roosevelt set.

For UK coins I'd like to add a new monarch - maybe Henry VIII. For US coins I'd love to complete my date run of Morgan dollars - I need 1893 (would prefer a CC as don't currently have any CC coins) and 1895 (any mint!) For European coins - I'd like to get the 2014 Andorra and Latvia euro sets from 1c to 2 euros - preferably for face value! General - I must sort out my duplicates, take digital photos of the better ones and try to auction them on the Forum or swap with other members!

Ahh.. 2014 goal, lets see- Finish our Lincoln set with the 1909S VDB.. I need 3 Newfoundland 5 cent coins to finish that set and, 5 ten cents.. These would be the only ones we are trying to finish hopefully this coming year.... if we have any money left.
