Hi guys

I am in the process of purchasing some coins, It is after I fell for a coin I purchased of michael 11, I just need to own more :)

I feel very strongly about not overpaying for coins though, so I could really do with some help on values of these coins so I don't overpay, equally I don't expect to underpay so I am looking for a fair, un biased valuation (I appreciate the pics are not great) but If anyone can help it would be really really appreciated.

I have basically been told £1000 is the best price they can do (which is about $1650)

Any thoughts if this is a good price?

Thanks

I personally wouldn't pay over $300 a piece for those.

Provided these coins are real which is difficult to say from the pictures. From $350-$450 would be about the most I would pay.

Cheers guys

I have come to an agreement for them, 1 oz gold Britannia + £275

I may have overpaid slightly, but I was nervous my gold coin was going down in value and on ebay they seem to be selling about £750 now which is about £675 after fees.

I am going to meet the seller to do the swap tomorrow. Has anyone any tips on checking authenticity for them?

Thanks

The first hurdle an authentic Byzantine coin of this period must clear is weight -- it should weigh about 4.45 grams and not much more and not much less, unless it is clipped or very worn. Most are 4.40-4.50 grams. Below 4.30 grams I would grow very concerned. So, take an electronic scale if you can.
