Two Really Weird Coins - Coin Community Forum

BuzzBuzzYolk New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted 07/01/2007 6:12 pm The quarter is concave on both sides and on the obverse side it has a thin line going all the way around and running right through the words "LIBERTY". Does anyone know if this might be an error in producion or just a sanded down quarter (that still doesn't explain the line and concaveness)? As for the penny, it's hard to describe. I think it might be about 2-4% off. If so,I'm guessing it would be worth around $1? The first image shows the bottom of the coin as steps. The second image is so you can compare the top with the bottom. EDIT: I forgot to mention that the back of the penny is like any other ordinary penny. Thank you for the help and info! Lincoln Cent If the obverse is slightly off center and the reverse is centered it is caused by a slightly out of line obverse die ,,unfortunately these do not carry any premium value. I might just be overreacting about the penny just because I'm relatively new to coin(error)collecting and this is the first time I've ever closely looked at a penny and saw any abnormallity.
