I didn't look at it that closely. I don't know much about the bust halves to be honest. I just thought the title was funny.

On any other country's (die-struck)coins, I would deduce that it is a fake. And you would be right--but early US coins were technically far behind the best issues of Europe. The seller is far too enthusiastic about the grade.  Edited by DVCollector

Well...I'm hardly an authority on these coins, but nothing screams fake to me.  They were often crudely struck around the rim. I seldom consider grading the coins on this thread, but I suppose this one is more like VF30 than AU.... Edited by DVCollector

"Not Very Fine"--that's for sure! Is there really any value over melt for that?  It's not a rare one. |

I think the best thing to do with such coins is to make them into jewellery.

I don't know I would still put it in my 7070 if it was like ten dollars. I tend to like coins with obsessive character for it. It's amazing when I get an above ag coin in there. It's become a bit of a challenge for me.
