I normally don't troll here because it's a fool's paradise game - there is ALWAYS something worse on ebay. However, occasionally you find a new level of stupid worth calling out... This fine individual has posted not one, but TWO body bags from NGC - INCLUDING the body bag - as Mint Errors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/192569906112 is a lovely damaged 2005P WV Quarter http://www.ebay.com/item/202342586485 is an equally lovely damaged 2006P CO Quarter The bright primary color backgrounds are free...

Why do grading companies return some damaged coins in 'body bags' but encapsulate others with 'Genuine - Details' slabs?

Body bagged coins can't be graded. Sometimes, the coin will be so damaged or worn that the date cannot be ascertained. Otherwise the coin could be a fake. Sometimes it's been altered.

Quote: Why do grading companies return some damaged coins in 'body bags' but encapsulate others with 'Genuine - Details' slabs? Generally because the submitter selected the option to not have details graded coins slabbed.
