hello all, I was hoping I could get some opinions on this coin/slab. I tried looking up the cert # and it said it isn't a valid cert number. The pics are also very blurry and poor and that makes me a bit suspicious of them. they could be trying to hide that it's a fake coin/slab. most of their pics on other items looks pretty good.
I'm sending the seller a message for more pics but the cert number not being a valid cert number according to pcgs's lookup just makes me really cautious and I wanted to ask you guys. thanks :)

Nothing jumped out at me on the slab from a quick glance.

The cert number came up when I checked it. Did you try and put the whole number in? You only put in the numbers after the / when checking certs.

oh, I didn't know it was only the numbers afterwards. I am very cautious with slabbed coins because of the threads I see on other sites about fake slabs, more and more are being created all the time even ones that you wouldn't think they'd be faking. thanks for the help guys :)

Here is the PCGS Cert Verification page. It shows that the cert number is after the / on older slabs, and they give the barcode layout for the newer slabs.

But IMHO just the certification number doesn't guarantee the coin/slab is not fake. I can make 10 fake slabs with the same valid certification number.

Here's a link to a fake slab diagnostic which might be of interest - though it's possibly an old slab type (not my area of interest so I can offer no comments)
