However, the coin does not exhibit the same toning in hand. It has clearly been dipped. I, personally, don't care for dipped coins. I like old coins that look old (and quite honestly can't afford those that don't). The rim ding at 4 o'clock is also more pronounced in hand. I'm torn because the details are decent and it seems to be a better date.
From the image it looks nicely toned.A dipped coin would be blast white. The edge bump doesn't detract. It would scrap at nearly $20 but is far too good for that. The decision is yours.I know what I would do.
Yeah, that's the thing, though. In hand it's not toned. It only shows the colors in the pic when held a a certain angle. When seen straight on, it's shiny white. The pictures are what fooled me. It's very strage, but the surfaces have been tampered with.
The pic is why I bid on it; in hand it's totally different.
Honestly, if the coin is not what you expected, and has flaws. Its going to bother you overall. Attempt the return and get something you will be happy with.
