40 nickels - 10 rotated dies! not outstanding rotations but 10 in a roll is really cool! makes me keep looking that's for sure! I hope the roll of 65's and 67's yields something.

I was saving the 65's for the weekend when I have a bit of time. made a date with the wife to watch a movie tonight. I don't think she would be impressed if I stood her up for a roll of nickels. LOL

bought them from local coin shop. they are dealing with a hoard that a family inherited. $10.00 a roll. I hope to buy more from the hoard as it is dealt with.

you will NOT find a Large Beads 1965 nickel in a bank roll. The large beads coins are probably back door jobs ,like a ton of other 1965-67 Canadian coins that came out the of the Ottawa mint in paint cans and the like!

While the Large Beads may have left the mint via the back door, their production was legitimate.

Large beads have been found in proof sets.

There are no proof sets for 1965,only specimen sets and BU (PL) sets, the mint did not have the equipment to produce proof coins until 1973,the first proof coins were struck for the '76 Olympics.

So DBM do you think there is a remote possibility that some and maybe some could have got into circulation...I mean if some one inherited these and was desperate for money, they could have broken up the sets..POSSIBLE..?

It was an article I read some months ago so it must have been specimen sets. Thanks for the insight on proof sets though.
