@rockzalo

to CCF,

In checking your notes Serial Number, it was printed in January 2014 and my math shows it was printed on Sheet #95572 of a 100,000 sheet Run on Run 30.

LF95795572H should be assigned to Plate Position F4, your note shows it was printed on Plate Position F2. This is the result of the Left Half of the Sheet being swapped with the Right Half after being trimmed into Two 16 Subject Sheets, and before applying the serial numbers. I consider this a common Variety on the older COPE Overprinting currently used,(and not possible on the new LEPE Overprinting that Serials the whole Sheet).

FYI ; the assigned Serial Number for your notes F2 plate should be LF94195572H.

I wanted to post some photos for you to check out and help confirm if this note is genuine or counterfeit, but CCF is the only website that doesn't let me post photos from my Tablet.

The only thing I question on your note is the light grey color marking under "F957" on the lower right serial number.

When holding your note in front of a light source you should see a embedded security thread on the left side & ole Ben's watermark on the right. If light pressure is applied, you should also be able to feel the raised intaglio printing almost anywhere on the note with your fingernail, these features will help you with confirming the notes authenticity.

In closing, I continue to search the internet for Global Errors, should you come across any from Chile, please advise, or post here on the International forum.

Hope this helps and your question.

Hi, I work at a financial institution and also came across $100 series 2009 with a green security stripe, I have been working with money for many years and it is no discoloration, I think this is an error and not fake any updates.

I recently found myself in possession of two of these green foiled bills. Came from the same bank and during the same transaction. Any ideas on them or what I should do with them?

Thanks so much!

I believe that thread is done by the company that supplies the paper to the US Govt and not done at the BEP. So, the govt may legitimately not know anything about it. My guess is that the paper company just varied up the color occasionally and there may be other hues out there.

Still, it's important for collectors to have an estimate of how many might exist. I agree with the others that a TPG is the next step.

the 3d blue security stripe has nothing to do with the printing process, this security feature is woven into the paper and the color might vary in the tone or brightness of blue but it can not change from blue to green or any other color. the fed was forced to quarantine about a billion $100 bills because of difficulties and/or errors in process of printing the new $100 bills. we can only guess how many $100 bills with green security band instead of blue might be out in circulation but it is probably not many

My son was working retail today and received a 2009 $100 bill with the green band. He exchanged his cash for it and will hold onto it. We'll follow this post. Has anyone done a TPR on one?

I saw this thread yesterday and took a screenshot of the two notes and emailed Bianca Bart. Hopefully she will see them soon, and consult with her dad and get back to me. Personally, my opinion is that it's environmental or intentional post-BEP damage/alterations.
