I saw this on the news the other day. The host was attempting to make bad jokes about it. It was an all around fail.

My Justinian I follis, struck in Constantinople a year before the plague hit the city. I can only imagine how quickly my coin must've changed hands during the plague years...

One Byzantine emperor used five different mintmarks at one city around the time of the plague.

ah yeah..i was hoping to see those Justinian plaque coins you guys have, those certainly came to my mind when I saw this. since warren linked his cool Antioch page, here's mine big justinian, overstuck year 21 with a crazy Antioch mint mark.

Justinian I follis is #98 in the Harlan J. Berk book 100 Greatest Ancient Coins. Great book and under $30
