Check out the prices, some of these modern "hobo" nickels go for hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

I know they are expensive, lots of work and artistry involved. Be great to find one while roll hunting.

Not that those aren't nice...but they are pale in comparison to some for sale on ebay...the are works of art!

I actually found a dime like those while searching through some coin once. I didn't think it would be worth anything, but it did look pretty cool so I threw it in the keeper pile!

I prefer the ones that actually use the devices of the coins and they are still somewhat recognizable. Maybe just cause I like coins but the other ones I would call art and not Hobo Nickels

Those coins are worth more than the vast majority of the vast majority of us will ever find. unbelievable artwork. I am shocked that there is that much of an audience and mafrket for tthat work and that the coins/art is so valuable.

Probably done with a computer and a stylist machine for engraving. That would be quick cash. Make a desing on your computer and have it transferred to the coin...
