I'm not to saying that I only have an interest in crumpled up, limp, damaged notes with the highest bacterial count but I love defaced notes with interesting text, locations, occasions, and names inscribed on them.

A few of my uglier notes (which I'm no less fond of). I'm especially fascinated by notes with overprints, graffiti, chop marks and so on.

Giving this topic a bump as a much-travelled friend has just given me a bag full of mostly obsolete and low-value foreign banknotes. It's been great fun sorting through them. There are several ugly ones, but this 50 pounds from Sudan has to take the ugly prize:

Never knew this topic existed until now. Ignorance is bliss!

Kidding aside, interesting examples.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out what this note was because I couldn't read it. I finally took a picture and enhanced the crap out of it to id it. It is a Greece 500 Drachmai from 1950 - 1953 time frame. If anyone can Id it further I would be forever grateful.

Sorry about the last pictures of that Greece note but it is that bad!

Here is a 100 Pesetas from Spain that has sure seen better days.
