Quote: Looks like far too many cancellation marks! 1 would surely have surviced, so why 17..... Oh my! I wonder if it was "personal?" Quote: teehee.... I'll now try and find a note with more than 17 cancellations. I reckon someone had been drinking!! Or that.

Can anyone else find more than 17 cancellation marks on a banknote? Most of the Kusel hyper-inflationary banknotes (similar designed pieces to the one I picture) have multiple cancellations but I can't find a piece with more with more than 17......its a good challenge.............

Two recent purchases; one of those is from late July, the other from just this Saturday. The July one first; it's not actually that bad, but I did only pay about $4 for it... England, £10, 1975-1980 (now demonetized). A lot more rectangular than the photos make it look like (aside from the missing corner).

Anyway, the second one. The English note wasn't actually the cheapest I could find; I was just entranced by the idea of owning such a high-value note. In this case, however, I legitimately expected that I'm unlikely to have another good option for a note of this country that cheaply (about $3, IIRC)... Iceland, 5 kronur, series of 1928 Pick 27b(3) [not yet on Numista] IIRC, this (sub)type was actually made long after 1928 (possibly in the 1930s), but I'm not very sure of the specific dates.

january1may, that £10 note was a great buy, especially since you could redeem it for full face value at the Bank of England!
