Despite the issues, it is selling well, so I doubt they'll cancel it. Hopefully they will reconsider this design.
I received an invitation for a mint survey and the message from the director of the survey company said to contact him with any questions or concerns, so I did. He called me and I told him the full story about why this new packaging sucks. He said he would forward it to the right people at the mint. Hopefully something will happen.

Aside from the packaging issues I think it's a great-looking set. Wishful thinking but perhaps they will apply what they've heard/learned from the 2013 set to the 2014 set if they do one.

Well, I called and complained about the packaging as well. So thats another one logged.
Got my replacement set today. Did not even bother to really examine the coins until I opened the case and blew the coins off with compressed air. They looked just lovely. :)

I received my replacement set yesterday, I will be logging a complaint with the packaging. Luckily I was able to rotate the case so the marks don't appear to be on the coins. The coins however looked great.

I've received my two sets. As expected, there were problems with the cases. One set I was able to rotate the blemish; however, the 2nd case has blemish both on the area of the Half and Eagle so any rotation positions still have the blemish on/next to the coin. I am pondering if I should just keep or return it? Any inputs?

Unless you buy it at the store in the mint, a replacement will most likely have the scuffs. If the coins are seated all the way in the plastic tray, they won't scuff. Once they start to work their way up, then they can rub on the upper lens. Entropy is unidirectional.

Just got a replacement. Lens was scuffed as expected. But get this; the inner cardboard was creased! I really don't think the folks assembling these pay any attention. It's a 1 cent piece of paper. Why not toss it and grab another.

The set released on April 29th is the 2014 Silver Proof (Annual) set. This is the "Limited Edition" set. If there's a 2014 LE set, it will be announced for release in late '14 or early '15.

638 more of the 2013 LESP sold over the last week (as of 13 Apr) for a total of 47,745 out of 50,000. Anyone know if they will let the set continue to sell through 2014 or will they pull it at some point?

Dar, why skip it? As most folks have noted, once they started removing the covers the coins were just fine. The packaging aint great, but it IS a popular set and is likely to continue. At least I hope so.
And IMO, they should just go back to the way they packaged the first set. Not sure what was so bad that they decided they needed to change it, but the fix was NOT a fix.

Anyone sent a set of these in for grading? I have an unopened box (5 sets) that would be eligible for first strike, but I am wondering if it would be a wise move. (I.E. would I be able to make the money back) My understanding of about $40 per coin * 40 coins = a lot of money! lol
