I'm not home, but I picked this up on the road for $5. For some reason I really struggled to find one of these in condition I wanted to purchase. It's a PCGS MS65. I'll crack it as soon as I get home ;). Technically I don't have all the Jeffersons minted, but I didn't care too much about the proofs at the start of this. I'm also missing one of the Matte finish Jeffersons. Anyway, sorry about the poor photos. All I have is my 55mm and poor hotel lighting. The case is really scratched upon this thing too.

Nice. Not an SMS I take it? I'm planning to try and compile a nice set of PCGS SMS coins from 1965, it's my wife's birth year and the packaged 1965 SMS sets all look like crap. So I'll create my own set from slabs. Probably go with SP66 and up.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I originally got into coins trying to learn to love Lincolns and quickly found copper wasn't for me. Buffalo nickels ended up being my wheel house, but quickly realized I wanted to learn about coins. Jeffersons offer just that, a learning experience. You can spend as little or as much as you want on these. They have the silver coins, toned, proofs, full step, strong and weak strike features and the list goes on. I found them to be a great coin for me to learn grading. Over all, my experience with them has been very satisfying. I now have the unfortunate task of collecting an AU/BU set of Buffalo nickels before I move on! Oh... it's not an SMS either. I have a 65 SMS somewhere though.

Yes, I realize the task of compiling you set of Buffalos will be torture, but look at it this way, it's a little better than working in the salt mines

Something to be happy about. Yet you said no Proofs yet. Just got to get all the Proofs and make it a really complete collection. I've got 6 Albums of those. 4 are from the first to present. 3 are 38 to 64 only. Problem is as long as they keep making them, set is never really done.

I hear you guys on the proofs. I don't know if I'll actually do it or not. I almost feel like I just want to move on from the Jeffersons for a while. I've got 7 or 8 really nice Buffalo nickels and they look lonely in their book :)
