A few members seemed to like coins featuring HORSES recently, I know this one isn't UK but I thought I would share it anyway.... It's an Irish 15 Euro issued in 2010 remembering the old LSD coinage of Ireland before the Euro. The Central Bank of Ireland issued 3 coins remembering the old coinage, the Horse 2010 which oroginally featured on the OLD Half Crown (LEAT COROIN), the SALMON 2011 which featured on the Two Shilling / Florin (Floirin) and the Hound 2012 which featured on the Sixpence (REUL)

As an Irish Wolfhound breeder for 30+ years it's bothered me that the dog used more resembles the Scottish Deerhound around the muzzle, sloping away as it does.

The "copy of original animal with new baby animal" motif is very cute. I like the salmon a lot... I wonder how many coins have salmon on them? The only other that comes to mind is the Latvian 1-lats coin.
