Found a ton of coins at my register today. 42 mercury, 44d wheat, 1887 nickel, but I also found this. Any ideas what it's worth?

Just a shade under $4 for melt value.

Would be nice to see a picture of the 1887 nickel as it is likely worth more than the quarter depending on grade.

Nice finds either way, congrats!

Cool finds for face value. Quarter worth melt but I was just keep it since you got it for face. Sometimes I wish I worked with a cash resister

It is a 1917-24 "Type 2" quarter. From 1925-30, the date was recessed so it didn't immediately wear away like so many from 17-24. As mentioned above, it is worth no more than scrap.

Yep. My bosses wife brought all her change in to use for rolls at the store
