That is a lovely coin, everytime I see an Austrailion One penny on eBayuk I'm always checking for these dates. It's funny how many I see now, but the significant dated ones :(. I'll stay vigilant.
Sorry if I've been ignorant on part, but what project do you have going? Your collection? Or are you planning on something to showcase them in rows? I'm intrigued.

Hi awalling no its all in my earlier posts. I'm an elderly gentleman, And I want to leave my 4 children and 1 grand child something of real value for them to remember me and mum. I have 5 1 kg Perth Mint silver bars I bought I want to have a 1925 and a 1946 penny set in them cause there contrast colour to the silver, a florin would almost be hidden so I decided on pennies. So to compliment the silver. And it just so happen it was these dates that were of significant value , A one dollar penny would do the same nearly but its the dates and the value I wanted. I hope that helps you awallin, I do have some pennies as I like them but I am not a real collector of them. I like florins LOL. I have about 40 or so florins. The pennies will be set at each end of the bar with a 3rd penny in the centre that will have the centre replaced with a enamel photo of me and mum for them to have hopefully for the rest of there lives. Cornnie I no but you get all funny when your my age. If I was born in 25 and married in 46 it would make a lot of sense I guess. Yes I'm that old and that is why I don't get out to much these days , I don't like to make a fuss for the kids there just to busy. So I'm secretly doing this so they don't know , I will have a bit of trouble getting to the jewellers but I will work it out so they don't know. I haven't been well of late so I sort of in a little rush to get it organised. But I am getting there. It is not much money to do really I don't have anything I want so the money isn't worth nothing to me any more. And I hope it gains value in time for them and is as important to them as it is to me right now. That's all its about awallin I just want some real pennies to give my children so they remember what me and mum are and what and who they are , Australians. Silly I no but I hope they like it and it does some good for them either morally or financially. Sorry if I bored you awallin with my rant.

Hello good people, I have an update. I received my 25 penny today (a real one) I'm really happy with it, it looks even better in real life. And I can actually see 6 pearls and a centre diamond so not to bad at all for what I paid I think. Well I like it and I love the colour nice chocolate brown. And for the fake one it is also going good the guy has offered a full refund and it says on my ebay tonight that it has been refunded even though I don't see it in my account yet. So I wont count my chickens before they hatch. To the guy with the Kookaburra emblem serial I think. I read a post somewhere you wrote about cleaning pennies with oil and acetone. Could I ask how you do this My 1925 has a small black patch on the obverse side but I don't think is stained as I can see the colour is the same underneath as the penny is elsewhere. I no don't touch it and I wont if you say not to. Regards sweetap.

That's really nice of you, what you're doing for your Grand-Children. I didn't realise you were collecting 5 of each, your grand children have a great Grand-Father to go through this amount of thought and work for them. You're a great person, with a big heart. I only vaguely remember my Grand-Fathers, as I only saw them up until I was 5. But I have pictures and some memories of them. I think your Children and Grand-Children will love what you have done here, and what you've done through-out there lives. I have a great amount of respect for you sir.
Regarding the refund, if it was done with paypal-the refund will be next to the original transaction. It won't show at the top, just click on the transaction where you paid for the other coin and it should say refunded :). Money can take a few days to clear into the account after a refund. Glad it's getting sorted.
And no you haven't bored me at all, it's nice to hear about. Have a great day mate.

Thank you awallin I hope I make it that far to get it done. I have now 3 1946 and 1 1925 coins , Hope to have more very soon and then I can get the job done. Spoke to a jeweller I use and he suggested maybe mounting to a glass faced frame keeping each item separate and then a larger pic could be used and the silver bar and pennies untouched retaining more value. Maybe a good idea I will think on that. Question to everyone or anyone who can help please. The 1946 penny I have here has a of centred stamping on the front. I'm pretty sure its genuine penny, Its all the right colour etc and seems to be an original coin is it faulty or just how these come. Look at the outer edge it is thicker on one side on thin on the other side plus one side has double edge the other not because its of centre very noticeable in real life. Regrads sweetap.

Maybe not off centre enough to call an error but possibly more desirably for some people

You're welcome, but most of the input was from others.
I regularly recommend CCF when I get queries, because it is a good resource, people here are really quite helpful, and you can get contrasting opinions so you can make up your own mind. (rather than just one opinion). Healthy.

Very true Tim , I have learnt a lot and not just about coins , the whole saga about Australian pennies and copies is a whole new thing and I'm just bewildered to why people would do such a thing.
You get old and just wish the world was a better place , I have loved life and still do but every now and then you get a wake up call, My coin venture sure has given me a big slap in the face. Makes you feel like an old fool at times.
I thought a penny would be just that never give the copy thing a thought at all until I bought that bad one and then seen the fakes on gumtree that rang alarm bells immediately and I was still waiting for it to be delivered, and I had a bad feeling about it after seeing them fake ones. I just new something smelt off.
Thank you Tim , yes others have replied to and I thank them to but you have been very gentleman about it all and I thank you again sir. Regards sweetap.
OH sweet-ap is my old car a 1965 AP6 V8 Valiant a rare car 1440 only ever made and 320 were station wagons. And was the first Australian V8 motor car ever to be produced in Australia. Don't worry I like Holdens and Fords to they just didn't make the first V8 and I love me Mopars. I had a 327 Bathurst Monaro when I could drive but that was a while ago now but my Val is still here 73000 original miles on the clock and I have it registered on club registration but it has only driven to the inspection site once a year for the past 7 years, I have it in my will to give to my son. He gets all 4 cars as the girls do not want them. Yes I have 3 girls and 1 boy and 1 gorgeous grand girl.

Hi guys , about the penny I bought, funny thing has happened.
The guy has refunded the funds no problem there, but all this week he has been asking me to leave feedback for him so he can do the same for me. OK so I do and he gives me positive feedback all is good. I have not heard from him since and NO MENTION of returning the fake coin.
Is this guy buying feedback?. Seems very odd. I don't no what to think about all this. What do you guys think might be going on, I don't understand why he would not want his item back. I have been waiting for him to ask so I could make him pay for the postage but he hasn't.
