TV coin sellers like Robert Chambers, Mike from HSN, Barry Chappell, Rick Tomaska that hype common coins as the greatest thing since sliced bread. TPG and their multiple labels. Let's see there's Early Releases, First Strikes, Buffalo label, signed by a Mint employee or former Mint employee, Golden Gate Bridge, regular brown label, 1 of (insert max. number here), and the list goes on.

Sending registered mail: in some countries it's cheap, in Canada it costs at least $15.

I knew I had another one, Charity shops charging more than the going rate for a coin :o. It bugs me because not only do they get the stuff free, but they charge an extortionate amount. I understand completely it's for a good cause, but some of the prices are shocking. I like looking for deals, but those days have gone in charity shops :(. One example is my family used to give loads to charity, to help out-really cool stuff Atari, mega-drive, jewellery, and we never saw it on sale :o-this was prior to online charities. Since then we stopped giving them stuff, because it felt like the wrong pockets were being filled. Sorry for the rant lol.

Paddy, I think that can be applied to any coins on ebay. For example, there is a seller that has a 1914 Barber dime that is graded AU-58 by some slabbing company I have never seen before (it was not a reputable one) Anyway, it looked like it was a VG. If I sent all of my coins to them, I bet they will all get the elusive MS-71 grade!

Trite cliche coin condition descriptions. Brilliant...Gem...Rare...Key Date...AU++++++... etc, ad infinitum. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if there's even one single coin left in the world that isn't a rare key date AU++++++ brilliant gem.
