Coin stores where the price of the coin is written on a little white disc, which is hidden by the coin itself so you can't read it, and have to wait until the dealer has finished with the previous customer before he can get the tray out of the cabinet so you can look at the coin properly and see the price! And having to repeat the same operation four or five times with different coins...

Plus, that's surely better than a sticky price label on the actual coin!

One of the shops near me uses a computer to look up their prices. It drives me nuts because I called them yesterday to get some prices of some proof ASEs and I could not get them because their internet was down.
GRRRR...

Having your LCS or a dealer at a show feeling bothered because you are not looking at super expensive coins. Drives me crazy

-Ebay auctions that don't show pics of the actual coin you're bidding/on buying. -Ebay auctions with eastate sale lots where you bid on a randomly selected item. -People who blatantly overpay for junk on ebay reising up the price of the junk. I guess I don't like ebay.

I also hate when people say like "this is nice" or "looks much better in hand". IMO, it's a scam waiting to happen.

I also hate those auctions where shipping cost more than the coin...

My biggest pet peeve is when people hold the coins with there fingers on both the obverse and the reverse of the coin rather than the right way, on the edges. In time it wares the coin down and nobody ever notices that until its too late. I also don't like cleaned coins, what's with it that all the dollars you ever see seemed to be cleaned, most dollars like who keeps on cleaning`em... people who don't have numismatic education which are also the people that do my first pet peeve. My third pet peeve would have to be when people hide them in there house in areas where when you find them years later, there all ruined from moisture damage and dust.

I have two. The first is counterfeits, they really are the bane of the hobby, but I realize they're also part of its history, too. But right now, the Chinese are engaging in it on an industrial scale, and getting way too good at it.
The other is one that I haven't seen mentioned yet, which is when you're in a shop or at a dhow, and you have to ask what the price of an unmarked item is, and out comes the greysheet, and you have to stand there while it's looked up, and of course the implication is that the seller wants to see just how much can be wrung out of it, doesn't care to know his stuff well enough to have a price in mind, and can't be bothered to put a price on things beforehand to make the shopping process easy for everyone. And of course, the sellers who operate this way are often the gruffest ones, who act like you're wasting their time by asking.

At least the prices are somewhat fair that way.
