Cruisinfusion, I know exactly what you mean. I'm going to be a high school junior. That's also why a lot of people don't know I collect coins.

This thread is a year old but, I'm going to revive it.. My biggest peeve is when someone posts a coin for grade and says... I'll post the slab in a day or two then, a week goes by and no picture of grade... drives me crazy..

I guess I will allow the necrobump if it is therapeutic.

The way the British Royal Mint is cashing in on the Royals by putting out more and more spurious new issues, only available at way over face value! Cupro-nickel 38mm five-pound coins cost much less than face value to produce, yet the RM sells them for more than double that! And do we really need Royal Christening coins? At this rate we're going to have 'crowns' celebrating Princess Charlotte's first tooth and Prince George's first day at school...

Well I wasn't expecting to see this thread again! I forgot to mention how annoying it is when I have adult collectors who expect me to know nothing about coins. It is kind of fun showing off my best coins to them though. How many YNs would you expect to have one of these...

I have not read the entire thread, so apologies if this was already stated. It drives me nuts to see a Canadian coin, especially an error coin, for sale on ebay by a US seller, and they do not ship to Canada!!

A big one: When I say, "I specialize in mostly pre-1900 non-US coins" and then get asked, "I have a Wheat penny. What is it worth?"

AT Coins, especially morgans and that guy that blowtorches his coins. Everytime I see those torched coins the MadTV character "Stuwart" pops in my head saying "look what I can do"

A peeve that used to bother me but I'm working to get rid of is this:
Them: "What do you do for a living?" Me: "I work as a coin collector and dealer." Them: "Oh, my eight-year-old nephew collects coins."
It used to bother me that my passion was thought of as a hobby for young kids, but I now realize the person is simply trying to form a connection to what I do from their knowledge of coin collecting. So, nowadays, I'm more apt to inform them about coin collecting and pass some coins on to their nephew than to get upset by it.

Canadians whom do not understand why no one wants to ship there. To seque, do they all retire to Florida? When I was Baying I would not deal with Africa, Canada, former Warsaw countries, nor the states of Florida and Georgia in America.

How many YNs would you expect to have one of these... The accuracy of this is unbelieveable. Just because I'm 13 they think I'm a noob and just starting to collect and know nothing about coins. But I've definitely proved them wrong
