the CP catalog has pics of the 50 for 50. COA is the same style as the 20 for 20. Paper. Not a cardboard box like the 100 for 100.

I think part of the 'problem' is that the mint tries to be secretive about their releases but then they allow CP to produce catalogues with the coins weeks or months in advance and send them to thousands of CP outlets. There is no way to control the information once those CP people get it and that's why we see the coins on ebay or other forums long before any information comes out from the Mint.

Also, one other very important advantage to MC as opposed to CP (both free shipping) is that as far as I know, the Mint has never cancelled orders or failed to deliver (though they have on occasion reduced limits). The same cannot be said for Canada Post.

I agree on CP but how are you going to find out the leak and penalize them? (hint hint: Watermark everything with unique postal outlet identifier.....)

Or just don't produce paper catalogues.

Why is CP wasting money producing gloss catalogues for their outlets when they could simply e-mail and print them on the day of release? Do they really need fancy promotional material for these coins? And if they do, why couldn't they deliver them to outlets on the day of release - they do kind of have control over the delivery don't they? lol

Maybe if they saved the money from printing, they could afford to continue delivering mail. Just a whacky thought.

I guess it could go the other way too.

Why is the Mint so secretive? Do they think that withholding the coin designs until a release and sell date is better than building interest by putting the designs out for a few weeks before the ordering can be done. I guess so, I'm just not sure that makes a ton of sense.

Why does Canada Post need a heads up on the up coming coins? They should find out the same time MC members find out.

Let's make this simple. You get free shipping and a week head start to order before the general public get access.

I agree: free shipping and advance notice. Plus if you have a rep, advance notice of a day or two before its listed on the MC web site.

I would add that given the financial commitment, its got pretty good payback as you have the opportunity to pick up those coins that are likely to appreciate in value.

how do you get a rep exactly? I have been MC member for a while now, and even though I signed up for e-mail notices, I never received any e-mails of advance notice. I don't have a rep. everytime I want to buy something or even just see the new items, I have to log on and do it manually.

There are members here who complain about receiving a lot of emails.... lol, no one is happy.

About your question, you've to be contacted by a Representative. If you want to have 1 quickly, buy a $10k coin today, on Monday you'll be contacted.
