When I spoke of Fraud earlier I wasn't clear. I had purchased Three items stamped 925 silver. It wasn't silver nor was it 925. I received a full refund and after calling Paypal and explaining to them the case offering pictures of my test method on video the items themselves and my research into how many other times this had happened to people. They also had multiple variants to the name of the main selling account. They froze this seller from any further transactions and last I checked their sellers account is gone. They even sent e-mails to me claiming hard times and E-bay as only source of income. You do the math. if they sell 10000 items at 10$ each and the're all fake costing .50 to make it's more than my income! There is a difference in open fraud and deception but to me the're scum.

I'm still waiting for a response from this seller from my comment I made to him a couple of days ago. I told him that I purchased a few sheets of this series a few years ago, and how easy it would be for me to cut these sheets down, and list them on ebay as miscuts in the Error category as he did for a starting bid of $180.00.

Quote: I guess I sounded harsh but that was not my intention. However, as a new note collector, not knowing the numbers could've made a serious dent to my wallet -a dent that could've been spent better elsewhere - a dent that only hurts the buyer as there is no intrinsic value to the bill. 1st let me say I've been in this game a long time and this is what I was trying to prevent... 15 years ago, ebay would let a member warn other members.. Since ebay went public (stock market) and forced sellers to accept PayPal, it was never the same.

Thanks for the welcome. I still wonder why the Coin Community still has me listed as a new member, I've been on here for going on 2 years now. Maybe it's because I don't post very often. Anyway, I have been with ebay for about 5 years now, and nearly all of my purchases have been coins and currency. I have never sold anything, but I do see a lot of questionable coins and such for sale out there. I've been collecting since 1965 (10 years old), so I'm a little familiar with some of what's real and what's not. Sometimes I will contact a seller and ask them if they are aware of what they may be selling, whether or not their item is authentic, sometimes to their advantage and sometimes not. Rarely does a seller disregard my question entirely, but I have to wonder about this one, and a few others from the past. So, that's my take on it...

Item was relisted since no one bought it...thankfully. I sent another report. Hopefully ebay gets the picture and takes down the item.

If you care enough to contact him in the 1st place, why not follow through? Or was this just venting and you've already contacted ebay? It's not hard - it took me 30s to find the listing, 30s to verify the serial # range is from an uncut sheet and 30s to report it using the link here on CCW?

Quote: If you care enough to contact him in the 1st place, why not follow through? I only posted this thread after receiving a reply from the seller saying he doesn't have it listed as a error, and yet has it listed in the "error" category, and asking error money... There once was a time that ebay would let members warn other members of listings like this. Any honest seller would have corrected this listing when being advised it was not a genuine error, and with their reply, I'm not interested in back & forth name calling with what can be a crazy person (been there and done that some 12 years ago after posting negative feedback to a seller over receiving fake poor quality saw blades, advertised as top-of-the-line Milwaukee Blades. My daughter thought she was helping me out and started sending threatening messages to this nut-job, only to make things worse)...

It's clearly in the error category and labeled miscut. If I slapped on a Mercedes hood ornament onto a VW and asked for Mercedes prices I'd get the heck yelled into me. The seller is being aggressive and is clearly in the wrong. Maybe if they persist you can contact Secret Service and police enforcement in their hometown. Obviously the seller has mutilated/altered a bill with intent to defraud. We're not talking $5 here, we're talking close to $200 - that's a healthy grocery bill right there. I'm glad there were no bids on this item, people like this make me sick.
