@dialog_gvf: I do not follow APMEX very closely but maybe they sent in a lot of their coins for grading. I ordered 5 2011 American Eagle Anniversary 5 coin sets & to get the early release designation from NGC you had to send in sets, in their shipping boxes from the US Mint unopened! No one was able to even look at their order delivered if they wanted it graded by NGC with the early release designation! Things may have changed but just an example.

I've bought the Venetian glass frog and and plan on eventually trying to obtain the whole set. Same old story,what do I put them in. AS far as I can tell it is 38mm wide the same as the O Canada 1 oz silver coins. I'm wondering if they would fit in the 5 coin O canada wooden box that comes with the subscription ? I'm worried that the Venetian Glass frog is a little thicker and I won't be able to close the cover. Does anyone have a box for this set ? Thanks,sherwooddavid

Here, do not rush, Dave. Simple reason - you do not know, how many coins will be in the set. You will not pay, for example $50-$100 for some nice custom box, and then discover, that he is not sufficient, or will have empty slots.
O Canada box will not fit, tried.

By the way, take a look at other forum.
Kimmis posted a picture of big Lighthouse wooden box, with some series: "Crystal Maple", "Venetian Glass", "Bison", "Eagle". As a storage, it also great, just need to be gentle with the box - it has square cells, and the coin in the capsule just placed there and it loose.
You can put all the coins there, and later, with the time to decide, which group you want to store in separate box.

that is the problem with trying to buy cases before sets are completed, or the known amount of coins in a series is realized..I am still going through this with my 20-4-20 custom cases. Silveroid is completely right, slow down on case buying unless you are collecting a series that is completed or the number of coins in a particular series is know. It will only cost you more money and frustration in the end..

Quote:The ones I used are the air-tites that fit SML's. I cant remember the exact name or anything but they are 38mm. like these ones http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-38mm-Bla...em3f26d32a4bBut when you get them there is a foam middle part that you pop out....that's what I used....if you have some SML's that need capsules then ordering some would work out good and using the inside foam part for the 20 for 20.......but if you just ordering them for the foam part..not sure its worth it....ill post some pictures for you @Silveroid, Hi Silveroild,just received my capsules and either they sent the wrong item or I ordered the wrong item. There is just the black ring (no foam center to punch out)and its much to big. Any suggestions ?

@Sherwooddavid:
see, the coin itself is 27mm, plus capsule 3-4mm from each side, will be 31, lets say even 34mm.....so unfortunately, in no way can be 38mm, as you bought for SML.
Ha-ha...I got it now, looking on the picture. I think, people meant, that you suppose to cut "hole" in the inner circle and not use outer ring. It my guess, but I believe, people will confirm it.

Quote:Here's what I bought... anybody need 50 - 38mm capsules ? lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/27123431537....m1439.l2649 Here I confused. I bought some accessories from this guy and his listings were clear, no issues. Now according to the URL, you did buy the Ait-tites for ASE (American Silver Eagle) (40.6mm) and not for SML (38mm)? Added: Please ask Solidifier, which capsules he used, go to the Air-tites.com and order from there. They have detailed everything, sell a lot of stuff.

After I dug out my trusty caliber's here's what I came up with : $20 for $20 coin = 27mm $20 for $20 Capsule = 30mm O Canada box slot = 39mm foam ring = 4mm x 2 So I think the H39 - 30mm foam ring for U.S. half dollar or gold maple leaf should do it. http://www.air-tites.com/Air-Tite_R....U02qsvldV48This time I'm only going to order a couple ...just in case !!

Silveroid, the capsules came with only the outside ring so there was nothing to cut out. If it was a solid circle I could have marked it and cut it out so it would fit. Hope I'm making sense. If I could find a piece of foam locally I could probably cut out a filler so the coins would fit properly in the slots.
