Hi guys, is there really a variety for wide and narrow "0" on a 1980 dime? The 2014 Charlton guide says that the wide "0" is worth $3 in VG condition. I've acquired three 1980s lately and they all seem to be the wide variety. The knowledge about the subject would be very helpful.

Yes there are, Collectinator. The wide 0 has the top of the 0 the same width as the sides, while the narrow 0 is much narrower at the top than the sides. Try to get one of each in really nice shape, and you'll see the difference. Well-worn narrow 0's tend to widen out with the wear and banging around of being in circulation.

Here's my three 1980s. After looking at them again, the first 2 seem wide, and the last one seems narrow.
