My brother texted my yesterday with this coin he had found Metal Detecting on a beach on the east coast.

I was hoping to help him get some information on it. He is going to text me the other side later this evening once he is off work.

From the colour and overall appearance, my initial assumption would be that it is a lead counterfeit of the type of coin philadelphian posted. BUt then, if it's a beach find, I'd imagine the action of saltwater could easily make it turn something like that.
