Hey, I have one of those too, saved it over 40 years ago. I also have a similar $2 note (pink instead of green). Why is it called Devils Face?

Reply to why is it called devils face. using some imagination look at the queen's hairdo above and to the right of her ear. there it appears to be two eyes, a nose and a mouth. Hope that helps you.

nice note, I sold one just like it....maybe a little bit worse condition for $35 recently.

@iontyre not all 1954 notes have the devils face, just the first year. They changed it after all the devil hype but still used the 1954 plate.

IMO this note is in VF condition.....

In 1954 they starting printing notes and people started to mention that it looked like a devil or a demon's image was within the hair of Q.E.... after that they modified the notes by fading the details in the hairlines.

As for value.. I think you can expect somewhere in the ball park of $20 for the note ... it could go a little higher depending on how much interest is generated..

This note has a hard horizontal fold.. a hard vertical fold.. and what looks like a small tear or fold near the left serial number....

Perhaps I've been having a bad day with the grading lately as it seems I'm under grading all the notes and coins on this board lately

Here's a visualization, showing the difference between a modified and devil's head note.
