This is a recent pickup. I think I got it for a decent price considering the look of it and the fact that it is in a rattler holder, which seem to carry a premium. These are the seller's pics which were actually really good (much better than mine would be). Let me know what you think. Thanks.

MS64 IMO, might even go MS65 1881-S is so common though being in an old rattler holder I could see a 65 grade, today I think the 1881-S has toughened up and MS64 would be all you might expect out this coin. No way this is a PL either, if so then I think PCGS blew it.

Solid 63, maybe a 64 if it was graded on a Friday afternoon.
Rest in Peace

If it's an old rattler I'll say the label is 63 with no PL designation. I do believe it would have a decent shot at 64 and the surfaces look very close to PL. Nice coin!

Nice luster on this one! I'm at 63, though a 64 wouldn't surprise me at all on this one. Nice pick up!

I thought this was good for the grade, but you guys have me second guessing it a bit. I'll post the grade once I get it in hand. I'm thinking these photos bring out the small dings more too.
