I seen this set or 1954 Beattie/Coyne uncirculated bills today on the coin show and am wondering if they are the "devils face" bills ?
The set kind of appealed to me since I was born in 1954 and I am now thinking of picking them up.

That's unbelievable for notes they likely acquired at face. I'm all for free enterprise but...

The Beattie/Coyne signature can go either way: Devil's Face or Modified.

But a side by side comparison shows the bills being sold are not devil's face bills.

..Why do you say TV man aquired them at face? Where did he get so many sets in such good shape, and I call those notes nice shape (Why are they not UNC?)or uncirc....I enjoy the ty coin show- I will agree I thought that I personally could aquire same notes for a lot less money...but I buy only at a great deal for coins, token, paper, stamps, etc...

1954 banknotes are fairly common, even in good grades. I wouldn't expect this set (in raw form) to fetch more that a little over double face value at auction in this market.

Like others have already said, this is the modified version of the '54 series. Also, way overpriced.

Here is a side by side comparison of a Devil's Head and a modified note.

If you're looking to pick up any coins or notes you MUST remember that there's a number of people that have to get paid for it to be on TSC or something of the equivalent...

Coin dealer & shopping channel have to make a cut....

So you're essentially paying for (a) the convenience of having the set assembled for you & (b) the overhead costs the dealer and tv show have to incur.

With a bit of effort you can get this whole set in AU condition for a whole lot less...
