Hi I'm new to the site, I've been lurking around for the last few months. Anyway I bought a 2014 MS 70 NGC silver angel coin from Govmint.com and received it yesterday. On the bottom of the coin it has a die crack that is about 1/8" long. I have 30 days to return the coin. My question is would you keep it or send it back? It doesn't take away from the beauty of the coin, but one day I will probably sell it and I don't want to scare away potential buyers. There is also a small spot on the other side of the coin and that does bother me.
To me it kinda seems like a rare coin because I have never seen a die cracked coin graded in MS 70. What do you guys think? keep it or send it back for replacement.

Hi, I think for start. You should post a photo to let the expert in the forum take a look. Then they will make suggestions to you. And lastly you make your own decision. =) Btw I am new too. Welcome to the forum. =)

Two questions:
1. What is a silver angel coin? Do you mean silver eagle?
2. Is it possible the "crack" you can't photograph is actually a scratch on the plastic holder and not on the coin itself?

I think the OP meant Silver Eagle. An error, such as a die crack does not affect the grade of a coin. Some like them, and some don't. If you don't like the coin, it's your choice whether to return it or keep it. pics?

Is actually Isle of Man Angel coin UK . No responses on the world coin forum. It is definitely not on the case but on the coin itself. If you look at it in the right angle you can see a slight ridge which makes me think its a crack and not a scratch. What kind of camera are you guys using to photograph coins? Thanks

Quote: To me it kinda seems like a rare coin because I have never seen a die cracked coin graded in MS 70. The reason for that is because a die crack disqualifies a coin from being a "70." Not that such stuff has ever stopped NGC.
