Look like Chop Marks. Full pictures?
Anyways, just a reminder to say the proper denomination since this isn't a dollar just an 8 reales which happens to be the size of one.
Title confused me.

If these are about this coin 1796 Dollar, you should have added the pictures to that thread, not started a new one.

Fuzzy I believe it's the same coin. The chop-marks match.

The posts in that thread are several days old. Posts in that section can't be modified after a day. You would have to add a reply to that thread. They could be added to the original post, but that might be confusing for users that have already replied and viewed that thread.

Again, these are called chopmarks and are normal to coins that circulated in the orient. They were punched with stamps bearing Chinese characters by merchants to check their silver content.

We already mentioned this in other posts too; it is called an 8-reales coin not a dollar. It did circulate along the dollar until the mid-1800s, but an 8 reales is an 8 reales.
