Sadly there are no pictures because the store-owner wouldn't look kindly on it. But my nearby store has a very worn (not holed, nor bent, but maybe [American] FR quality) Scottish copper coin for $9 Canadian (5 pounds). There's not much detail but it's attributable (sadly I forget the denomination, a bit dopey of me). Is this worth buying? (if you were the one paying, not me - if these are cheaper in the UK then I wouldn't bother looking for one in Canada).
I would probably buy it. These Scottish coins apparently circulated a huge lot, so FR quality is pretty much normal (at least if it's one of the small coppers). If the date is still visible, definitely buy... I personally would even if it isn't (I've wanted to get one of these for ages, but so far no coin shop I've visited seemed to have one).
