1966 PL Sets Questions - Coin Community Forum

canadtech Valued Member Canada 84 Posts	Posted 06/08/2014 6:10 pm I have a box of 5 PL sets from 1966 that has never been opened, it's exactly the way it was shipped from the mint to my great uncle who I inherited it from. I would like to check for Small Beads dollars but Charltons 2014 shows none for PL, does that mean it would be pointless to open the box and check ? Also, is there enough potential value to leaving the box unopened versus opening it ? I am fairly certain it contains 5 PL sets since the other boxes just like it that were opened from the 60's had 5 sets in them, although it might be dollars only because there are some unboxed envelopes from early 60's with only dollars in them. They don't carry any sort of premium for being in the original shipping packaging, but its a nice novelty. I've had a few customers that get giddy over the idea of having that bit of RCM provenance.
