I ordered 2 sets at 12:30 on opening day and received an email yesterday that my coins had shipped out.

This change in purchase limits could be interesting. Some of the people in line will probably still be people working for the dealers and buying for them, but usually a fair number of the people in line buy multiples in order to keep one and sell the others for a profit and reduce their cost in the one they keep or sell them all just for the profit. Now if they want to keep one they are going to be paying the full price. And if they just want to sell their profits are now limited. It will be much harder now for dealers to get their hands on quantities of the coin in the special ANA labels. How many of the collectors who plan to keep theirs will fork over the extra money for the label? Of course this could make the special label that much more desirable and increase the profit possibility for flipping a labeled coin on ebay. Yes it will be interesting watching how this plays out.

I still have trouble understanding how a "special ANA label" could possibly increase the value of this coin. But that's just me...

I received the email that my new halves have shipped as well. Now I just have to figure out whether the gold coin will be worth it. I think I will sit out here on the fence for awhile and see what happens. I'm in for the 4 coin silver set whenever it comes out.

You are absolutely right, barryg! The ANA label doesn't make the golden Kennedy, or any coin, worth a penny more than one bought elsewhere. This goes for all coins in slabs too. I even see prices jacked up on slabbed coins due to what color labels the slabs have, or if the slab has a picture of a bridge, mountain, or flag on it. I'm pretty sure that the Mint has been minting the gold and silver Kennedy coins for months how, and the ones they sell at the convention aren't any newer, nor made any differently, than the ones you can buy online. I may be one of just a few collectors that dislikes gouging of some coins, but it gets me upset enough at times to make me squawk about it.

There is more what if here than I have ever seen. This is what my DI said about what ifs... What if worms had machine guns? Birds wouldn't mess with them, what IS your point boy?
Make it simple. You want these coins? Buy them. Why all the angst? You dont want them or just cant afford the gold, then dont get them. I mean, either you are Kennedy collector or you arent.
Me, I am a Kennedy collector. I have put a lot of effort and money into my Kennedy Dansco. I have the 98 matte proof. I am keeping an eye out for the accented hair. These coins will be in my collection. I just placed my order for five of the sets. I will get at least one silver set. More if I can. And I am doing everything I can to get the money together for the gold coin. I dont give one tiny fraction of a rats rear what their may or may not be in the future. Frankly, if thats what is driving your purchases, go buy some bars of PMs and be done with it.
BUT, lets entertain these two coin sets. These ARE unique coins. Does anyone here believe they will even come close to one million minted? I sure do not. A few hundred thousand is my thought. Making them a key to the series. And unless something drastic happens, like every Kennedy collector dying at once, I am pretty sure demand will be there for these coins. But that is a what if that means nothing.

The first clad sets have made their way to HSN Coin Vault.
ANACS SP69 FDOI for $99.95 1,940 sets
By the way, Mike said he submitted 4,500 sets and did not get one SP70 coin. If ANACS can't certify even one SP70 set for HSN, what does that say for the quality of these sets ?

Our local club is renting a bus and heading out to the ANA show On Thursday. I know we won't mae it there by the time to line up outside at the crack of dawn and get a ticket but you never know. I guess I will have to wait it out online like the baseball coins but hopefully won't get 2 out of the clunkers this time.

I received my clad halves from the mint yesterday, I can see why no one has received a 70 grade. I would feel lucky if I had one of them grade as a 65. I've found better looking halves while coin roll hunting. I also received an email from a coin website offering me $250 to purchase 5 gold halves for them today, not open the box and ship them to them. Then they said they would send me a check the next day. I think the name of the place was called something like " Coins from 1994 " .com or maybe it was Coins from 1993? Anyways, I am passing on that offer.
