Maybe this is the information Dansco is waiting for to update the 7070...

I plan to be at the World's Fair of Money; it's just an El ride away for me. I'm thinking of buying two gold Kennedys, one flip and one to keep.

I am not going to worry about the Dansco. If I get any of these, I will probably keep them in the OGP, assuming they are on par with recent sets of this type. Now, it is a different story of these are released in the generic plastic lens like the annual proof sets.

I'm definitely in for at least one of the clad and silver sets.
Remains to be seen if I can afford the gold issue but buying direct from the mint is likely the cheapest I'll ever be able to get it for.
Is that a fair statement?

I would like to have the 4 coin set but have no interest in the gold coin. Hopefully the cost for the 4-coin set is reasonable.

Quote: Anyone else wish they were not making the gold Kennedy? I may be in the minority here, but I wish they weren't making any of them. I saw the thread and thought "THANK GOD they are redesigning the coin finally!" Then, after looking at it, the only real change is...a dual date and gold. Yawn. As some have already said, let's put this coin out to pasture with the big 5-0 permanent send-off. Though I will admit, the gold does look nice.

For the life of me, I just can't get excited about these coins. A higher relief portrait of JFK isn't enough for me to buy the uncirculated clad issues, which are the only ones I can afford.
I can understand doing a special half dollar in 2017, the 100 year anniversary of JFK's birth, but these coins are commemeratives of 50 years of the JFK half dollar.

First word out of the Mint is on July 24th they will be releasing the 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Uncirculated Coin Set for $9.95. This info is listed under Product Schedule.
At that price, most likely it will be a clad set.

The Federal Register has the 4-coin silver Kennedy set for $99.95. That was kind of expected.

The two coins in the $9.95 clad set will bear the original high relief design from 1964. I am happy about that, so I'll be getting a few of those. They should have never switched to a lower relief design. These two coins will be different from the halves available in rolls, bags, and mint sets.
