I am curious and need some help. I ran across designer's initials on a 1998-D LMC that look fatter/wider/different than those on a normal 1998-D. I don't get a lot of Denver coins out east and I was wondering if this is normal for that year and mint. I assume it is but thought I should check. The initials are not smushed and the rest of the coin appears normal. I appreciate all help and opinions, thanks!

Not that I can tell. There is a slight obverse MAD, maybe that has affected it somehow. I thought maybe there is a Type I and Type II designer's initials for that year, kind of like the 2 different 1974-D dates. Here are full obverse and reverse pics:
