Detector Information Needed

Thanks Dave. How deep does the "normal detector" detect? If you upgrade what would be the depth? Do you think it is worth the upgrade. Just thinking as hard is the ground is out here I probably couldn't dig too deep anyway.

Soil conditions will definately affect it's depth. Do you have a detecting club near you or do you have detecting magazines out your way? Magazines over here sometimes advertise 'detecting partners wanted'. If you hook up with somebody who already knows what they are doing you will learn much quicker what to look for, where to look & how to understand what your detector is telling you.
I've always found research to be as interesting as detecting itself. Do your research & you'll save yourself a lot of time & increase your chances of making good finds. However...pot luck is always around the corner!
