s/ (yes the header is sarcastic)
Why would a horrible road kill florin ( ebay item 191220677579) sell for $105? It would be almost an embarrassment to even include it as a space filler. I dropped out at under twice bullion value but 12 different bidders kept it going higher. WHY?
For a few hundred more there are plenty available that are EF-ChUnc, this is one I picked up last week at a reasonable price ($416.12; ebay item 221465815782 and it should slab up OK. Any opinions of the grade it will make and any detracting points?

As regarding the "road kill" you would see that most time coins of rarity seem to get premiums on ebay as they are cheap enough for a low budget person to afford them. Regarding your purchase, nice coin. His face is intact so I would suggest anywhere from a 63-64

Looks like a great way to sell $5 worth of fake silver for over $100

Nealeffendi, have you sent this florin off to be slabbed yet? Just curious

Sfitzernator, no, I only won it a week ago and it is still in the mail. Once it gets here I'll probably include it as my first submission to PCGS.
Trout, the road kill seller is a dealer of repute so that probably gave bidders confidence that the florin wasn't fake. The buyer I got mine from is a low feedback seller which possibly scared off most bidders. I spent hours looking for die markers to compare before I risked my tight budget on my coin (lots of fakes on ebay). For the road kill I'm not even certain that any die markers would remain.
Coinsaus, I cannot see why even those on a tight budget would buy it as a space filler. If you can't come up with $150-200 for a nice VF then why waste your money on this coin unless it was really cheap (sub $20). Is it a variety/impaired proof because some of the bidders must have reasonable pockets to have feedbacks in the hundreds yet be willing to settle for this.
