They have all 3 lake coins, out of which the lake ontario is on further sale at $85, others are $90ea (creditcard/paypal) so $282.46 CAD vs $345 CAD from the mint.

Ya this is exactly why I cancelled my sub to the lake series.Since I have the box I can fill in the extra spots when the coins go on sale.

This really looks like the end for the RCM. I think reality will hit them a lot sooner then I thought it would. With discounts this deep will dealers continue to order from them? I guess I'll be finishing my set at the end of the series they might be further discounted.

Also, the cardboard set boxes they're giving out these days for subscribing through them aren't worth it. Some of the older wood ones were really nice and made it worthwhile paying more for the coins.

I agree, I don't even consider a sub now if it has the crappy cardboard box. thankfully the great lake series has a decent wooden box with the set.

Maybe the end of the fear about the collapse of the financial market VS the demand of gold and silver is another reason why the maket is going down... Also, the spot price VS the price who go up and never go down for NCLT is another good reason for the lowest demand... And with all the offer the RCM has with monthly release is far too much with the market and all the other mint around the world who try to sold their coins...

The Mint made too many of them (10,000) for the market to absorb for a niche coin. I doubt many people outside of the Great Lakes region were truly interested in these coins.

Average people outside of North America (i mean without having a deep knowledge in geography or these who didn't read some books) do not know about existance of these Lakes. And this is OK - each one with it's own knowledge, but yes, RCM' mistake to mint too many. IMO, for some specific coins, better to issue them within subscription only - the demand will be higher.

What a shame? I almost subscribed to a subscription and now look at what's going on? The RCM needs to adjust their pricing.

I would guess these are USD prices and the shipping is free within the US.

I saw this yesterday when I was looking for that black rhino silver coin and I was thinking,, and these are just random thoughts, thinking out loud...
1- a good sale if you wanted this series, if you are a collector this a good sale
2- dont be surprised if they are having trouble selling these, that down the road, prices drop even more on this series....since what is cheap usually becomes cheaper...
3- there should be no rush to add coins, as prices continue to drop....
