They seem to be going successfully on ebay for around $200, so that sounds pretty good to me...

Ok call me crazy but I did not know that Australia had an "8" dollar coin.

I know of the following 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 100, 150 and 200. (got a feeling that there is a 15 as well but not sure on that one.)

The thing is with this coin, the denomination and the reverse design both raise red flags with me, I don't want to call it "fake" as I don't know for sure. Just I want to do a lot more research on it.

Although the pictures above are not clear enough to really tell, it appears that it is pretty clean unless it is a really good fake.

Here is an interesting page:

Ok did a bit of digging and the Perth Mint does issue an "8 Dollar" silver coin.

The specs are that it is a 5 ounce coin and they sell them currently for $480 aust.

It appears that the 1 ounce from the same series has a 1 dollar denomination on it.

I guess this still does not prove anything one way or the other.
