So I recently just started seriously into coin collecting. My 11 year old daughter brings me up a coin and says I can have it for my collection. It's a 2008 date $2 small coin from Australia. I asked her where she got it and she said she found it on our last trip to Disneyland which was 3-4 years ago. She'd been saving it ever since. Some Australian tourist must have dropped it in line for a ride.

Not a rare or exotic coin, but kind of a fun story. I'll probably save it and give it back to her in 40 years.

That is so nice of your daughter , I would treasure that coin if I was you, The love if gave is worth more than it could ever be worth.

Yes very good idea give it to her on her 21st birthday or similar , Maybe have it set in a stone or piece of jewellery on a chain or bracelet. Beautiful story you should be proud.

I have just returned from holidaying in Bali, Indonesia. It is a short 3 hour plane ride from Perth, Australia. The Balinese love the Australian 2 dollar coin. They make exquisite jewelry from the coins. Some lovely rings, pendants. The coin is unrecognizable, it just looks like a piece of gold jewelry.
