I'm not sure that Australians have as strong a tradition of "good luck coins" as some other parts of the world do. The general cultural paradigm seems to be that people are either lucky at certain times or they are not, and no amount of lucky charms, lucky rituals etc will change this very much.

I definitely consider my 1874 Victorian 'Bun' penny my 'lucky coin' as it was the one that started me collecting at the age of about 8!

Mercury dimes are supposed to be lucky. Especially for gamblers as Mercury is the god of chance.

Mine is '44, the last leap year of issue. Leap years supposedly being luckier than others.
