Much better than a mere 25, I'd give it XF-40.

Either VF-35 or XF-40. I'm leaning towards XF-40.

Without looking at Photograde, my initial guess is high VF

After looking, I'm still thinking VF-35 possibly XF-40


This is an expensive coin in higher grades.

I'd go with VF35 on this too. It is an attractive dime.

My estimate is VF35 as well, even if it compares favorably with examples graded EF40.
I remember reading somewhere the 1885 S dime is actually one of those slightly over-rated coins. Scarce yes, but not as much as much as the guides may suggest.

I'm in the EF category. Someone just posted an 1868 LSD that is a VF35 and you can see this 1885-S has less wear on the higher points of the obverse relief as well as the reverse.

Nice dime Germanics.
